Head of New Business and Marketing

As a leading provider of marketing, direct mail and graphics solutions across the UK, Wodehouse are looking for an experienced, talented and motivated Head of New Business & Marketing.

Are you a seasoned professional with a knack for forging lucrative partnerships? Do you possess the strategic prowess to drive business growth through innovative marketing initiatives? Can you bring something to the party? If so, we want you to join us as.

Working closely with the Managing Director, and as the Head of New Business & Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the business and taking it to the next level. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and capitalise on new client opportunities that align with the agency's proposition and service offerings – in other words, generate new business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and profile potential new clients to expand our clientele base.

  • Selling our services by telephone and in-person to both existing and potential new clients

  • Elevate the brand and marketing efforts of the agency to establish it as the ‘go-to’ partner for charities, the public sector and businesses alike.

  • Develop and implement contact strategies to engage potential clients directly and through intermediaries.

  • Curate a comprehensive database of collateral to streamline the new business process.

  • Ensure that the agency consistently meets or exceeds annual new business targets.

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Proven track record in business development and marketing. Knowledge of print and direct mail would be advantageous but not essential.

  • Sales and marketing knowledge across both digital and traditional advertising channels

  • Strong ability to identify and engage new client opportunities.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strategic mindset with a results-oriented approach.

  • Collaborative team player.

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred – but convince the Managing Director otherwise.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role.

  • Familiarity with industry-standard tools and platforms

  • A full UK driving licence.

Our charities fundraising and direct mail department is seeking a Part Time - Charity Business Development Executive to join our team and procure new business. The role will involve contacting UK charities, public sector and political organisations, building relationships and winning charity fundraising and direct mail contracts.

The successful candidate will need:

  • Business to business telesales experience.

  • Experience of cold calling.

  • Experience of negotiating with charities and the public sector.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Print & Direct mail experience preferred.

  • Decision making capabilities.

  • Strategic mindset with a results-oriented approach.

  • A ‘can do’ attitude.

Our Part Time Charity Business Development Manager / Sales Executive will work 20 hours a week and the role can be home based (part) and in the office, located in Trafford Park, Manchester.

Attractive salary + commission, starting on a temporary basis, and working to full-time.
